Ms. Sophia Looney
Ms. Looney is entering her second year at St. Margaret's School, where she takes on the roles of History and Religion teacher, Chair of the History Department, dorm parent in Latane, and coach for the Equestrian and Soccer programs. Education has always been a central part of Ms. Looney's life, having attended an all-girls school herself. She graduated from St. Timothy's School, an international Episcopal boarding school, much like St. Margaret's. Ms. Looney holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Mary Washington. Inspired by her influential history teachers, she has always aspired to pursue a career in education. She is passionate about sharing her wealth of historical knowledge and preparing young women for the challenges and opportunities they will face in higher education. Outside of the classroom, Ms. Looney can often be found on the water or spending time at the barn. Her passion for horses extends beyond just riding; she believes deeply in their therapeutic qualities and the benefits they bring to everyone.
